Cindy's always had a dream to stay overnight in a lighthouse.

One Christmas, Kelly, Grant, and Joe surprised us with a gift certificate to stay at the Rose Island Lighthouse in Narragansett Bay, R.I. which is just a mile off Newport's shore.

We decided we wanted to make our reservation during the off season when Newport was less likely to be bustling. So, we made arrangements to stay during the week in April 2003.
